Evaluation of Antibody Reactivity of Hantavirus Isolated from Patient

Abstract
To evalute antibody reactivity of CUMC-33H virus isolated from peripheral blood leukocytes of HFRS patient, IFA titers were compared with those of Hantaan and Seoul viruses. 313 sera collected from patients were examined. After heat-inactivation,
simultaneous reciprocal antibody titers were measured with the 2-fold serial diluent in 0.01M PBS(pH 7.2).
@ES The results were as follows.
@EN 1. 93.3%(292/313) was antibody positive, and IFA titers to Hantaan and CUMC-88H viruses were same. When tested Seoul virus as antigen, false-negative rate was 1.4%-4.0%.
2. IFA titer in 40.4%(118/292) was same regardless of antigens tested and IFA titer to Seoul virus was lower in 54.8%(160/292) than those to Hantaan and CUMC-88H viruses.
3. In 18.2%(1990 year)-50.0%(1988 year), IFA titer to Hantaan virus was 3-fold higher than that to Seoul virus. In 12.8%(1987 year)-33.3%(1989 year), IFA titer to CUMC88H virus was 3-fold higher than that to Seoul virus.
4. 4.8%(14/292) showed diverse antibody reactivities according to antigens. The patterns were grouped into 3.
These results suggest that antibody reactivity of CUMC-88H virus was same with that of Hantaan virus, and a few sera showed diverse reactivities to Hantavirus antigens.
